About Spinal Injuries Awareness Week

Spinal Injuries Awareness Week is a national campaign highlighting spinal cord injury in the community.  It is relevant not only to people living with spinal cord injuries, their families and friends, but the broader community, venues and business.

The week brings awareness to not only what it means to have a spinal cord injury and also draws attention to what can be done to prevent one.

This year many of the state not for profit organisations who work in spinal cord injury support have joined together to provide a national voice.

The Campaign Aims To:

  • Educate the community about spinal cord injury and the challenges faced
  • Promote wheelchair access in public venues
  • Reduce the incidence of spinal cord injury
  • Engage people who have a spinal cord injury
